Great story about the lyrics to this song-James Hetfield was hanging out with Waylon Jennings(that's a great story all by itself!), but anyway they were hanging out in some bar and a guy sitting across from them earing shandes was just staring at Waylon. After awhile Waylon was getting really pissed at being constantly stared at, until the guy got up-Waylon then realized the man was blind.
He looked at James and said, "I just wasted all my hate on that guy". Classic.
