Foot (not picked):  - TOTAL: 94 (11 players left)
Lefty (at 32): 7 - TOTAL: 103 (8 players left - one is a blank, which will count as the average of the other 31)
Sam (at 16): 9 - TOTAL: 117 (10 players left)
wilwhite (at 29): 5  - TOTAL: 118 (11 players left)

This obviously won't be decided before some guys go in the second round, so I'll post the rest later. Now that the cooing guests have dispersed, I'm devoting myself to my wife and my new little buddha.

nah, I won't do that to you guys. Wil again I am amazed bro! Your display of commitment and stat checking while in the mist of comforting your wife and new born and while entertaining incoming well wishing guests are most impressive and rank up there with some of the greatest achievments I ever seen in football. You are a true football expert and I am honored to play in the same league as you!!!!!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Now even though I currently hold the top spot in this contest, I fear I have too many late picks that will ultimatly bring me down. So I'll have to do a little rubbing it in now. IN YOUR FACE. Ok there you go Sam. That wasn't so bad, right.

Well now that I look at it again, I would have to say Lefty is the fave with only 8 picks left and more than likely he and Foot will just change spots.

Lefty's ahead in term of number of players, but Foot has a couple of advantages: he had Upshaw 10 slots later than the rest of us, and didn't have Cordy Glenn in the first at all. Of the four of us, the average position his remaining picks is the highest(23.7.) Mine is 23.6, Lefty's is 23, and Sam is most vulnerable with an average of 22. But the real decider may simply be who has the least-worst pick overall.

Cool Will. I've been kind of busy today at work and when I scrolled down it read it wrong. Now what does that say about the way we (me and foot) got the same score? Great minds think alike? Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.

Duff, for me the most interesting team to watch coming into the draft was the Browns. I think they are trying to do (without announcing it to the world) what the Jets are annually claiming they want to do.

Last year, in a universe where running games have become extensions of the passing game and fullback is barely even a position, the Browns drafted a fullback in the 4th. Now, with the appearance of the only runner in the last few years to look like a dominant RB, they made sure they got him, and followed that up with a QB pick in Weeden whose main qualities are his poise and his accuracy.

What this means to me is they want to run, run, run, with a passing attack efficient enough to keep Ds from stacking the box, but careful enough to hold onto the football. (The smart way to go about this is to use the pass to set up the run - if Richardson is as good as advertised, the Browns block well, and they mix in some safe little high-efficiency passing plays on first down, they could be a very effective, clock-eating offense.) Combine that with an already top-10 D that would be better rested, and the Browns could suddenly contend in their very tough division.

Since I have no allegiance to any NFL team, I will follow the Browns this season.

Welcome aboard, Wil.  You do know that you have to Woof and Bark during games if you're going to pull for the Browns?

I was a bit ticked off when the Browns grabbed Weeden.  I really wanted McCoy to have a few more pieces by getting a WR and a right tackle to go with Richardson.  I thought if McCoy still stinks, then our schedule this year would get us a nice high draft pick and a chance at Barkley or whoever.  We could have traded up since the Redskins already gave up the farm this year and nobody else in the NFL would probably outbid us this time.

But, I've been reading a bunch on the Browns chatboard and they've talked me down off the ledge.  I was hung up Weeden's age.  If he were 5-6 years younger, he'd have been a top first round pick.  McCoy hasn't gotten the job done and apparently the front office thought that he had reached his ceiling and saw someone they liked who could do the job.  One thing to think about (I got this off the Browns board) is that Roger Staubach graduated from the Naval Academy and served 4-5 years after.  When he joined the NFL, he was a 27 year old rookie and went on to have a Hall of Fame career with 9 out of 10 winnning sesaons.   Not saying Weeden is Staubach, but he could have a nice 10 year career.

As for Richardson, I think that he's a perfect West Coast offense RB since he can run, catch and pass block extremely well.  I'm thinking the GM, Heckert, likes RB's like this since he helped draft Brian Westbrook and LeSean McCoy while in Philly.  Now tell me those guys aren't some offensive cornerstones.  That and Holmgren (our Team President) had a similar player in Shaun Alexander in Seattle.

Now we just need a WR or two, some defensive depth, and maybe an O-line guy.

Robin? I hate to bring this up but didn't I finish ahead of you in the MBBRL inaugural season? I'm not sure that we're the dynamic duo but if theres a robin I'm not it.
