I guess so, but he did it for just one inning.  Cain did it for seven.

hawkeye-i countered that trade offer.

a ton of NFL players leaving for new teams. Albert Haynesworth in NE ? wow. Reggie Bush in Miami ? Still waiting for the Eagles to make a darn move.

So nice of Brian Wilson to not shave his beard and come with a mohawk to the White House this week. Now I'm not a fan of Obama, but have some respect. Oh I forgot, the ace of your staff is a pot smoking dork. Nevermind.

no offense intended to anyone but who cares on the NFL, no money from my house will be spent on any NFL merchandise for sure, millionaires and billionaires have a lot more than me

did anyone see that as part of this whole debt debate they are going to take off the mortgage interest exemption on your taxes?  so if you paid interest you get to deduct that on your taxes now, but apparently it might be going away, great job elected officials who don't pay taxes

baseball trades not quite what I expected, so far not a huge splash, sure Beltran deal is decently big, but really it's Beltran...waiting for that foray of fun to hit...saw Fukodome moved today, not much else going

The best way to hurt the owners and players is to (1) stop watching the games on TV, (2) stop going to the games and (3) stop purchasing merchandise.

In that order.  Of course, that won't happen, but TV money is the engine that drives all professional sports.

True, and as long as they are on the networks I pay for as part of my tv package, not a whole lot I can do about it, the key is the advertisers who pay millions to advertise during the games.  So do I stop using their products?  I already don't use most of them.

It's really the same with all entertainment, we pay our players, actors, etc huge money to help us escape for a bit from the humdrum of our everyday lives.  We need that escape in the form of movies and sports to fill the void of working an 8 to 5 track of doing inane jobs since we do not have the talent to be those players or actors ourselves.

Hey Catfish, just saw this:

Jon Heyman of SI hears that the Astros don't love the Phillies prospects, and that may even include Dominic Brown.

Who knows though, I don't think anyone really knows what's up til it happens.

hawk-just saw that but the new one is if they can find a 3rd team to take brown, they will do a 3 way deal.

heyman tweets too much. he's still pissed about phils and amaro getting lee and he being in florida for the winter meetings and amaro not telling him about the trade when he-heyman thought he had the inside track to the trade. please. he just reports rumors and blips. no facts. and for houston to say "they don't like brown, cozart and singleton." - heyman - PLEASE. a week ago, everyone in baseball wanted the last 2 guys. now the worst team in baseball doesn't want them. heyman knows zilched !

have a nice weekend everyone.

Catfish - You gotta like this, I am not sure which prospects they gave up though, still if they can sign him long term, that's a nice pickup.
The Philadelphia Phillies will acquire All-Star outfielder Hunter Pence from the Houston Astros for four minor-league players, Danny Knobler says
