it will be an interesting matchy-up this week

I give credit where credit is due, Fred has turned around a weakness into a strength  while I have been holding on to some underperforming "elites" Fred has beat out the other 8 league members to a formidable pitching line-up

top 30 ytd fred 6 dave 4

28 days fred 7 dave 5

21 days fred 7 dave 4  this is the one I look at the most as under 21 days some have 2 starts and others don't

14 days fred 6 dave 5

7 days fred 5 dave 5   this is after the trade so Kennedy is not included in my numbers

on the other hand, as I had focused on drafting pitching, my glaring weakness was top 30 hitting, particularly in the corners and outfield where the power hitters that can change a week reside

top 30 tyd batters  fred 5 dave 5

28 days fred 3 dave 5

21 days fred 1 dave 7

14 days fred 2 dave 4

7 days fred 2 dave 4

Projected end of Season.. dead even  Batters 3 Pitchers 5

The cores are set so it will be the week to week moves a little luck and injuries that will make the difference

How about that avi bet Fred....Foot in mouth

As Week 5 comes to an end and another victory for the President's Club, we prepare our lineup for Week 6 and another strong outting for the division leader.

Good Monday Morning GB10, looks like Dave has his roster chock full of 2-start SPs this week...YEAAAAAA!!!

After Val got a combined minus 1 point from her 2 starting SPs on Friday, I knew that the final outcome of our matchup was no longer in doubt and decided it would be best to take my time and enjoy the ride for the rest of the weekend.  True to her word, Val never dried out and I had the stamina of man on the second go-around after a night of binge drinking.  I'm not sure who gets my sloppy seconds this week, but don't be surprised when Val says she's had enough and decides to come out swinging rather than take it from behind for another 7 days.  Maybe she will have better luck with Josh Johnson than I did, but he was not showing the command I have come to expect and there is legitimate talent out there that I don't have to worry about blowing a 5 run lead.

So now Dave wants to make another avi bet despite having what I'm guessing is at least a 4 or 5 SP advantage (I will have 6 starts from from 5 SPs...none from either RP slot) and despite my intuition that says why should I reward him for throwing away wins the last two weeks so he could prepare for me, I've said from the start that I prefer solid 1 start SPs over risky 2 start SPs, so here's my chance to put my avi where my mouth is...I accept your bet Dave...for whatever stakes you want to agree to.

I may ride with 2 catchers again or at the last second pick up a hitter to place in my Utility slot...we'll see.

Haha!  That's 4 weeks in a row!  Doesn't that make me the hottest team in the league?

I'll tell you with the likes of Dan Haren, Johan Santana, Roy Halladay, Kyle Lohse.....I should have scored more than 239 points.  Very poor outings by my pitchers this week.  However, my friend Meuse had some misfortune and actually lost 2 starts.  LOL, it couldn't of happened to a better guy!

It was enough to stay....ahead in the count!  Deal with that putos.

It's being reported the Big East Commission is quitting.  First, they can't keep teams.  Now, they can't keep their commissioner.

Nevertheless, with the addition of powerhouse schools like Memphis, San Diego State, Temple, Central Florida, Houston and Navy, the future of the Big East has never been brighter.

4 weeks in a row you have beaten teams in your division Marty...certainly a worthy accomplishment since winning the East Division guarantees you a spot in the Final Four, but given the fact that the 1-4 team in your division has outscored you by over 130 points and that the Top 3 highest scoring teams reside in the West Division (I'm #2Cool), I'd say you probably want to temper your enthusiasm just a little bit.

It's only a matter of time before you will be forced to realize that averaging less than 240 points a week is going to lead to a record much closer to .500 than .800...I'm guessing your rude awakening likely starts this week vs Scott

actually Hanson and Weaver were already on my team, the other 2 starters I picked up for this week are on my bench, I don't like the match-ups.

Samardja was a RP replacement for Mariano, otherwise I would drop him. I had Sean Marshall but 2 points a week is not working for me and there was no other top RP available.

So Lilly is the only 2 start I speciffically picked up for our match-up that I am using. I just picked up Masterson , not because he was a 2 Start per se... but he was the highest ranked available pitcher on the scouting report I followed for setting my line-up. That is why Cueto and Latos are sitting as well

I will give you credit for manning up Fred. I don't want to be unreasonable.. you pick the weeks 1-4

De Aza was a good pick-up for you. I agonized over cutting him vs Torri Hunter... last 7 day production was the deciding factor

No shit****, Sherlock!  I've been stressing over that the past 2 weeks.  Luckily, Val and Meuse both have sucked more.  My pitchers absolutely have to play up to their potential and my bats need to keep swingin' and I have to continue to outhustle and outthink all of you.

LOL, you folks are in for a long summer.

Hanson, Weaver, and Sabathia should be locks every week...the other 3 SPs (1 in the RP slot) you are starting were added for the sole purpose of our matchup this week.

Samardja was a RP replacement for Mariano, otherwise I would drop him. I had Sean Marshall but 2 points a week is not working for me and there was no other top RP available.

If Samardja doesn't have two starts this week, there is no way he's on your roster...he will be jettisoned before the scoring period is complete.

So Lilly is the only 2 start I speciffically picked up for our match-up that I am using. I just picked up Masterson , not because he was a 2 Start per se

Lilly and Masterson are typical mediocre two start adds that also will be kicked to the curb before the week is done.  It's all right to admit your strategy Dave...it's not as if it's a surprise to anyone any longer.

I will give you credit for manning up Fred. I don't want to be unreasonable.. you pick the weeks 1-4

You have been pounding the drum for more than a week Dave and I think you are starting 3 SPs likely to implode so announce any terms you are willing to live up to and consider my acceptance a given.

De Aza was a good pick-up for you. I agonized over cutting him vs Torri Hunter... last 7 day production was the deciding factor

With McCann getting a day off every week and tough matchups vs 2 of the Top 3 Phillies SPs over the weekend, I figured I had to find a better alternative.  De Aza having great matchups vs the Indians and Royals combined with a double-header today made him the easy choice, but I must admit that I was surprised to see you let him go after he was instrumental in helping you pull of the victory over me a couple of weeks ago...hopefully your short-sightedness will come back to haunt you.
