TCU will accept an invitation to join the Big 12 Conference for the 2012-13 school year, college football industry sources told CBSSports.com.

Multiple TCU sources told CBSSports.com "it's a done deal."

TCU was scheduled to join the Big East on July 1, 2012, but instead will join the Big 12. By leaving the Big East before it officially became a member, the Horned Frogs will have to pay a $5 million exit fee but is not bound by the Big East’s 27-month requirement for notification.

TCU chancellor Victor J. Boschini told the Big East Thursday morning that the school has scheduled a board of regents meeting for later in the day.

The addition of TCU to the Big 12 replaces Texas A&M, which is headed to the SEC.

"We’re proud that TCU has been invited to join the Big 12," Texas athletic director DeLoss Dodds said in a statement. "Their commitment to academics and success on the field make them an excellent fit. With a solid budget and strong financial support, they have been proactive at improving facilities. Their close proximity to all conference institutions makes for a comfortable travel situation."

The Big 12 still must determine if it wants 10 or 12 members. Tuesday, Missouri gave chancellor Brady Deaton the authority to pursue its options about joining another conference.

Sources told CBSSports.com that if Missouri stays in the Big 12, the league likely would stay at 10 schools, including TCU. However, if Missouri leaves for the SEC -- and the Birmingham News reported Missouri currently does not have unanimous support -- the Big 12 likely would add three more schools to get to 12. The leading candidates would be Louisville, BYU, West Virginia, Cincinnati and Tulane.

The loss of TCU is another blow to the Big East. The league also lost Pittsburgh and Syracuse to the ACC, but commissioner John Marinatto has said previously the Big East would make Pitt and Syracuse honor the 27-month exit agreement, meaning they couldn't join the ACC until 2014.

Without TCU, Pittsburgh and Syracuse, the remaining Big East football members are Louisville, West Virginia, Cincinnati, UConn, Rutgers and South Florida.

Truth be known, I challenge you to quote scripture that literally says that the Sabbath has changed from the seventh day to the first day.  I guarantee you will never find it.  Quote exacty what it says and where it can be found.  Sabbath is still the seventh day which is on the roman day called saturday.  What is the spanish name for saturday? Yes it is Sabado (Sabbath).  Shabbat Shallom.

That is funny, I do not care who has won or lost at anytime. byu is not some savior to the big 12 like you kids think. If sports are played by all on whatever day, they should all play on that day. If you are going to put religion first, then just do it. Go play against like minded schools with the same goals and objectives. Oh wait, that is exactly what byu is trying to do, join the money grab. Please stop trying to have it both ways and act like anybody wants you, or dislikes you because you won one football game. Who really cares, I don't have a vote, but you crazy little mormons are getting quite defensive and showing your true colors with the personal attacks. Keep biting the pillow kenni, you seem to take it well.

BYU has an enrollment of over 35,000 students in Provo.  Making them the 2nd largest student body in the Big12 if they were invited.  Only Texas is bigger with 50,000+

BYU is hardly a "little" school.

That's such a Christian thing to say lvsooner.  If you're a Christian then you know that Sunday is the Lord's day.  If Christians actually lived what they preach they wouldn't be playing on Sunday's either.  I believe keeping the Sabbath Day Holy is one of the 10 commandments. Mormons didn't make it up.  So Mormons aren't asking people to schedule around them, their asking them to schedule around God.

And you have a problem with that?

lvsooner ... bitter much?  Sorry about BYU beating Oklahoma in '09 or whenever that was.  I'm a WVU grad and have no affiliation with BYU, but you seem really worked up about something.  You also seem pretty unintelligent, so I'll just quit here.  Not worth the time.  Have a nice life buttmunch.  Link deleted.

ken, shut your pie hole. I know byu does not play on Sunday, that is why this conference does not need them. They make you schedukle around them in all the small non rev sports. The church thinks it is ok to make everyone work around them, but it is ok for the other mormons to play on Sunday when it's about the dollar. Let byu stay and play SJSU, that is where them and there fans belong.

Topdogg18sjo has become a roaring bottom with that "Tulane" allegation.....His malrkey about little schools" doesn't fly either...private school Stanford has the best overall athletic program in the NCAA yar in and year out and it has about 8,000 students....Catholic school Notre Dame ain't all bad with its little over 8,000 students...Where do these goofs come from who think schools (student bodies) play each other????....No, Topdogg. teams play each other, not schools...and great big schools like Texas have a down year once in a while...and so does Michigan, Ohio State, Michigan State, Minnesota, etc.....The formula for a great football program revolves around the commitment the school, private or public, large or small, makes...Hiring a great coaching staff, aggressive recruiting by accentuating the positives and minimizing the negatives (and all schools have both), generating local, student body and alumni support are the essential elements...Re the SEC, how 'bout Old Miss, Miss State, Kentucky, Vandy?  Man, they're setting the world on fire....and along comes A&M...How many Big 12 Football championships have they won since the creation of the Big 12?   Re the Big 10...Man, Minnesota, Indiana, Northwestern are really turning the world over on its ears...huh???  And then there is the PAC with big, bad UCLA, Washington State, Oregon State, Colorado.....You see, Bottomdogg, all conferences have their weak teams......BottomDogg...You need to get some context before you keep on making a fool of yourself....

lvsooner, not sure what your deal is.  The school does not play on Sunday.  Players (who may or may not be LDS) make individual choices to play (or not play) on Sundays as professionals, after they leave the school.  OK, so when you call people "know it all", make sure you know what you yourself are talking about.
